Learnedly, from Hellenistic Koine Greek ἀναγεννῶ (anagennô) ("arouse afresh"), contracted form of ἀναγεννάω (anagennáō). Morphologically, from ανα- (ana-, re-) + γεννώ (gennó, give birth).[1][2]
