Etymology

Learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἐξερευνῶ (exereunô) < ἐξ (ex) + ἐρευνῶ (ereunô). A semantic loan from French explorer or from English explore.[1] By surface analysis, εξ- (ex-, from) + ερευνώ (erevnó, search, investigage).
