Derived from Sanskrit अकलङकिन् (akalaṅakin). Structurally, from Tatpuruṣa compound of অ- (o-) + কলঙ্কী (kôlôṅki), or, by Bengali prefixation of অ- (o-) + কলঙ্কী (kôlôṅki), or alternatively, by Bengali suffixation of অকলঙ্ক (ôkôlôṅkô) + -ঈ (-i).
